A.    Curricular Competencies to be developed (As per NCF-SE 2023)

NCF 2023 suggests the Panchaadi (five-step) framework for lesson planning to achieve these competencies:

1.      Aditi (Introduction/Context Setting): Importance of Chemistry in our life

2.      Bodh (Conceptual Understanding): Classification of matter, physical and chemical properties

3.      Abhyas (Practice): Active practice through activities, discussions, and projects.

4.      Prayog (Application): Apply the knowledge of mole concept, percentage composition to solve empirical formula

5.      Prasar (Extension/Expansion): Expand stoichiometry for determining limiting reagent. Extend the knowledge of concentration to determine molarity, molality and mole fraction

B.             Learning Outcomes (Specific to the lesson mapped with NCERT learning outcomes):

Students will be able to

1.    Understand

a.      Matter, its classification into mixture and pure substance

b.      Homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture.

c.      Elements, compounds, metal, non metal and metalloid

d.      Physical properties and chemical properties
